New young faces on defense

After a harsh summer, including losing once again in the Copa America Final with Argentina, Lionel Messi with his new Blond look will continue to be the Face of FCB together with his attacking teammates Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Luis Enrique squad this upcoming year will include a few young new faces but also will be without some familiar veteran players: Brazilian defenders Dani Alves Juventus & Adriano that left to Juventus and Besiktas respectively.

Newcomers include two French defenders Samuel Umtiti that came from Lyon and Lucas Digne that joined the team from PSG.

Two other additions came in Midfield as Portuguese Andre Gomes joined the club from Valencia and Denis Suárez who played for Barcelona B between 2013 to 2015, came back after playing last season with Villarreal.

The 2016 Joan Gamper match (10/08) will be the first chance for FC Barcelona Local fans to watch the 2016/17 Barca live in action.

The Joan Gamper Trophy has been going on for 51 years since 1996 and is an annual friendly match that is being played every year in August before Barca starts their season in the La Liga.

 Gamper was the former president of the Catalan club that also played for the team in his younger days and was even one of the founders of the team.

This year's opponent will be the Italian side of Sampdoria that were actually the last side not to be named FC Barcelona that won the Joan Gamper cup (back in 2012).
